Best dressed this week

This week, Pankaj & Nidhi proved themselves as star favourites in India: both Deepika Padukone and Esha Gupta walked red carpets wearing pastel blue designs from the duo’sspring/summer 2015 collection. Though he doesn’t usually dress more than one star per event, Tom Ford shone bright at the amFAR gala, dressing Rihanna in a sheer-bodice gown, Miley Cyrus in a black dominatrix number, and also styling Gwyneth Paltrow and January Jones for the evening.

Closer to home, the Diwali weekend had stars hopping from the Bachchan’s party to Aamir Khan’s residence dressed in their traditional best. Though Kangana Ranaut’s barely-there make-up didn’t do justice to her royal blue Sanjay Garg lehenga, the beauty of the ensemble cannot be denied. Both Urmila Matondkar and Sophie Choudry went safe (but very pretty) in Manish Malhotra. Sonam Kapoor too picked one of her favourite designers, showing up in a mint cape-lehenga by Anamika Khanna, with Shraddha Kapoor following suit in a lehenga by the designer.

Starting from Aditi Rao Hydari’s Amrita Thakur suit, extending to Kristin Davis’s Monique Lhuillier gown and Camilla Belle in Carolina Herrera, pink was a favoured hue this week. Another mini trend spotted everywhere: sheer. After Miley Cyrus and Rihanna, Deepika Padukone worked the look in a Gaurav Gupta and Italian actor Nicoletta Romanof picked a see-through Valentino embroidered with vibrant nature-inspired designs. Malaika Arora Khan’s peek-a-boo Jatin Varma gown couldn’t be missed either. Going one step further, Kate Middleton and Alessandra Ambrosio wore sheer in black in Temperley London and Zuhair Murad respectively.
