Luxury multi-designer atelier AZA recently hosted a banquet to unveil a signature line of Indian menswear collection designed by the talented Kunal Rawal, and launching an exclusive menswear floor at their Bandra outlet. Kunal’s exclusive collection for AZA reconstructs the basics of neo-Indian menswear by rendering optimum sophistication but in a minimal approach. He employs pleating panels as a stitching technique to enhance the texture of his clothes, which complements his regal designs.

Kunal, the youngest designer ever at Lakme Fashion Week 2006 edition who has worked with Bollywood’s leading actors and over 150 ad-films, explains his design theory saying, “The collection caters to the fashion centric man by offering a blend of ethnic and contemporary. The prints and cuts lend a distinct characteristic by evoking a luxurious sense of style.”

Some of the key pieces of the collection are sherwanis, jodhpuris, bandhgalas, achkans, Nehru jackets and dhoti pants in palettes of beige, gold, whiskey cream, ivory, and pastel pink to maroon, tangerine and royal blue. The expertise of rich brocades, raw silks and khadi blended with rare cashmere wool and zardozi make an unparallel statement for the style lovers.

The RSVP’s include hoity toities like Varun Dhawan, Gautam Gulati, Kailash Surendranath, Arpita Mehta, Shehla Khan, Nachiket Barve, Sabina Chopra, Mouni Roy, Dr. Ruby Tandon, Samyukta Nair, Pooja Shetty Deora, Aarti Shetty, Aalim Hakim, Omar Qureshi, Antara Motiwala, Divya Palat & Aditya Hitkari, Ritik Bhasin, to name a few.
