Sonam Kapoor front row at Armani Privé Spring 2015
Sonam Kapoor attended the Armani Privé Couture show last night in Paris. It’s one thing to take off to Paris for Couture Week, hot on the heels of a new movie release; it’s a whole other thing to meet maestro Giorgio Armani at his Couture presentation.
Needless to say, it’s pretty good to be Sonam Kapoor right about now.
“Mr. Armani has done it again with his Couture collection! I’m just in awe. The cuts, colours, and fabrics – he’s really pulled out all the stops this year. It’s been an absolute joy to work with the Armani team and I’m truly honoured they chose me to represent them,” says Kapoor.
The brand’s forte lies in the subtle but effective translation of Mr Armani’s vision, season after season. This time around, the inspiration was Asia. Going heavy on the bamboo and foliage-inspired colour palette and motifs to the origami pleating and obi belts, the collection was a modern approach to couture.
Just as we wondered if theatre was over for Couture, a gorgeous pale blue organza and feathered gown came down the runway, which the actor captured from her coveted front row seat in slo-mo on her Instagram.
Wearing a dull gold beaded blouse with organza pants from the Giorgio Armani SS 2015 collection, Kapoor looked every bit the fashion risk-taker she is. “I love couture and how it makes me feel; glamorous, beguiling and ever so chic, and there aren’t many brands that exude that level of aesthetic with such simplicity,” says Kapoor.
